Our Neighborhood
Shady Banks is a residential neighborhood in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. With approximately 500 homes on quiet, tree-lined streets, it is located on the banks of the New River and contains Hortt Park and the Bill Keith Nature Preserve. It is conveniently close to I-95, Fort Lauderdale Airport, downtown Fort Lauderdale and our famous beach. The Shady Banks community is made up of a mixture of young families, adults and retirees. And our all-volunteer Civic Association organizes a variety of community events and helps keep everyone informed about local issues. Our neighbors are proud of Shady Banks and think it's a great place to live!

Irish Festival & Parade
The Fort Lauderdale Irish Festival and Parade is coming up on Saturday, March 13th. on Las Olas Boulevard. A group of Shady Banks neighbors will be walking in the parade, and we invite everyone to join us. For details click here.

Association Meeting & Election
Our next Association meeting is coming up on Wednesday, March 17th at 7:30 PM in the Hortt School conference room. As part of this meeting, the members will nominate and elect our 2010 board of directors. Our volunteer board members work hard year round on promoting Shady Banks and organizing neighborhood projects. If you would like to be a board member, or know someone who might be interested, come to this meeting and participate in the election. Annual dues for 2010 ($10.00 per household) will be collected at this meeting, so be sure to bring along your checkbook. Membership in our Association is strictly voluntary, but your contribution will help support neighborhood projects.

Free Exterior Paint
Broward County offers recycled exterior latex paint to county residents free of charge. It's the type of paint our volunteers used on the Davie Boulevard wall. The colors available are Turquoise, Terra Cotta, Gray and Beige. For more information, click here.
